Sharing and Stealing
Atoms connect to each other through chemical bonds. There are main types: ionic bonds and covalent bonds. In ionic bonds, one atom gives electrons to another. In covalent bonds, atoms share electrons.
Think of it like relationships. Ionic is like one person giving stuff to another. Covalent is like sharing. Both create stable connections.
Why Bonds Form
Atoms form bonds to become more stable. Most atoms want eight electrons in their outer shell - that's the octet rule. They'll give, take, or share to get there.
